The lure of the accessories.. it is... inescapable..
Did we ever figure out if those tiny things from j-list are pony-scale?

This is from J-List! Lady Minty gave me Rement accessories for Christmas, and they are awesome!

I've got the rice cooker, too. ^_^ It's shorter, rounder, and has a shamoji (rice paddle) that hooks onto the side. It even has the two nestling compartments, one for water and one for rice. I can't believe how accurate it is!

I do believe Kimono is getting a little carried away with our you can use that thing for. Its one of those pump whater things right. You pump the water out after its warm.

She's just listing things you can make with hot water. :-/

I've got a water boiler, myself, although it's an American one. And I've made all those things with it, except for the soup. It's not like you mix the oatmeal inside it or anything.

*blinks* Amazing the amount of things that people make in miniature. Even the box too!

OMG, the box! That's probably my favorite part. The box has little barcodes and foam wrapping inside and everything! I just want to hoard everything Rement makes.

Yay, water boiler! Don't you just love all the detail on those tiny things? I was very impressed with that set.

Minty's especially great in the fourth panel. That pose goes perfectly with "Is that good?" I agree with her final sentiment, too. Mmm, cocoa.

Yes! I can't thank you enough for them. ^_^ The water boiler and rice cooker are definitely the spotlight items. I did work one of the pastries into the Christmas page, too.

And... mmmmm... cocoa.... Minty would agree to anything that produces cocoa. ~_^

"You had me at 'hot cocoa.'"

Yes indeed, Minty, yes indeed ^.^ I particularly like the fifth panel, the way it's taken at an angle. And Kimono's pose in the fourth one is just perfect for someone poking around a new electrical item (is that a custom?).

Thanks! I should do more angled shots, but I always forget to. :P

The water boiler is a Japanese miniature. Lady Minty (bless her) gave me a lovely assortment of them for Christmas. I'm anxious to have more, but they're somewhat pricey, and I'm somewhat broke. ;)

There is a company that makes tiny little things??? ~dies~
I wondered how you had so much super-cool little things.

Now I wish I had a reason to buy some! I wonder if you can get them in Australia.

Jan. 10th, 2007 11:44 pm (UTC)
There is! A company called Rement makes these. I think they're called "candy toys" because they're small and come out of gumball machines. Go to Jbox.com and do a search for "Rement" and you'll find all sorts of cool things! They're in Japan, so it's not too far to ship to you. ^_^

I should note, though, that the vast majority of my mini stuff are Barbie or MLP accessories. You can check my FAQ for more info.

As everyone else has pointed out, that box is pretty perfect.

Wait.. OATMEAL?
kimonos_house
Jan. 11th, 2007 04:57 pm (UTC)
Oatmeal! I think my mom kept her water boiler so I could make my own oatmeal when I was little, LOL. It would boil a half cup of water in about twenty seconds. Add it to instant oatmeal, and you're good to go!

And yes, the box is perfect. I wish I could take credit for it. ^_^

Hi! I love the strip but for the first time, I don't understand it. What is a "water boiler" if it is not an electric kettle, and why would any household not have bought one as a basic essential (like walls, roof and broadband)? Why would it be exciting to get one for Christmas? Or is it something more than a kettle, with extra bits for doing extra things?

Apologies for what is probably a stupid question, from a confused English person.

Jan. 11th, 2007 05:02 pm (UTC)
Not a problem. :)

It sounds like a water boiler and electric kettle are one and the same. It's a kitchen appliance that boils water within a few minutes. It's not an exciting gift, but it is the sort of thing that grandmothers will send their grandchildren. Kimono is trying her very best to see it as a wonderful and exciting gift. ;) I suppose they didn't have one because they haven't been on their own for very long. I know I went without some essentials during my first year on my own.

I can't wait until I can get more Re-ment stuff. I'm just completely floored by the detail they cram into every piece.
