There's a story behind this one! My grandmother was a truly terrific cook, as was her husband and all her sisters-in-law. They were very competitive, and my grandmother had a humorous streak, so she really did alter her recipes to keep others from stealing them. As my mother and I have gone through them, we've had to experiment to find the real measurements we're supposed to use. After the Chili Incident, which yielded chili so hot it would send you running, we learned not to trust her recipes at face value. ;) I made up the Stinkberry Surprise, though. Don't think I'd touch that one, either!

Edit for late-breaking news: I have added a couple new things to the Fun Stuff section at the KT website. There is a printable Map of Ponyland, and best of all, a Personality Quiz. Go! Have Fun!

That's too funny. I love stories about wily grandmothers. They're always entertaining! :D

I love you.
I am going to get ponys for my nice, just so I can play with them,
The pie and grandma is great! My grandma was not a great cook, but she couldnot keep track of what she put into things ever.
Making pickels with her was a trip.

Haha, this is a cute joke, Dava, made cuter that it's based in reality. (The way you phrased the punchline is clever, too).

Well, it's a good thing Minty knew which one to write off. =P
Are they having a Christmas party? Is Brightly invited this time? LOL! I hope none of my mom's recipes are booby trapped...

I've just recently started reading Kimono's Townhouse, and I am hooked. Kimono and Minty's misadventures never fail to make me laugh. I also love how the characters get developed each time they make an appearance in the comics, and that being said, I had Kimono's Townhouse in mind when I took this picture... =)

Good thing she caught it! I think it's supposed to be 1/2 teaspoon.

Stinkberry pie *dies*

In my family we share recipes but the trouble is they've all been tweaked and the changes are never written down. This is frustrating to the younger generation as we can't duplicate Mom's Death by Choclate bars or Nan's Sticky Buns. *grumbles*

...You mean you're not really supposed to put anchovies in the chocolate chip cookies? But I followed the recipe exactly! XD That's hilarious about your grandmother.

Minty looks ridiculously adorable in the third panel. ^_^

LOL! We haven't found any where she added ingredients... yet. I'm sure she did it and we just haven't found it. No, she just tripled the amount of chili powder you were supposed to use or halved the amount of sugar. Devious woman. :P

That Minty is the new bloated-symbol Minty! I had to airbrush her bloated symbol out of the photo. o_O

Haha, and I thought my family was weird... we don't change recipies, we just keep certain ingredients secret. Like the special ingredient in my apple pie. Family secret!

Teehee... I think my grandma oughtta try that with me. I always take her recipes and make them better than she does. She won't admit it but it's true. Looks like next issue is gonna be a party. Will Brightly finally ask her out and can we expect a random appearance of Batmint? That would be great!

Now that is a competitive grandma who doesn't like to share her secrets! Thank heavens my grandma wasn't that way. :) I love the personality quiz! I'm Brightly!

Oh, man! I'm so glad my family's not *that* competitive. XD I don't even want to know what would have happened to the rossettes recipe, or the krumkaka. :P
