#268

I was utterly surprised to receive an iPhone this past Christmas, and since then, I have become quite obsessed with "Words with Friends," a Scrabble-clone game. I absolutely love the game, but sometimes, I am startled at the words the game's dictionary rejects, words like "ova," "turpid," and "neti." "Turpid," especially, infuriated me, because it would have crossed both double letter and triple word spaces. And yet, when I played "waddy," I was surprised the game accepted it. I joked at the time that it's an adjective, but I now know that it's also the name of a primitive weapon. Okay, fine. But the game really ought to accept words like "ova."

Between boogers and the "Who Tooted?" game from two strips back, it occurs to me that I'm in an immature frame of mind lately.

We still have some time to reach the goal for a bonus comic on Monday! Be sure to vote today!

And we have some news! Kimono's Townhouse was recognized on the Bust Magazine website. Holy cow! And I've started up the auctions again, with new ones going up this afternoon. Huzzah!

I thought I was the only one who used waddy to mean crass or offensive.

I'm still mad that Bookworm wouldn't accept "novocaine" because it was (*gasp*) 9 letters long - the free version only accepts words up to 8 letters. LAME.

And it doesn't accept OVA?! Clearly a bunch of paternalist bastards.

In other news, CUTE TINY SCRABBLE BOARD OMG LOVE

It wouldn't take "ova!" It probably would have taken "ovums," but that's just wrong. o_O

Twisting Minty's hind legs like that just looks... um... unnatural, I guess.

Anyway, my friend convinced me to get the free version of Words with Friends this past weekend and we've been playing nonstop games so far. (He's won every game so far, one of them by nearly 300 points.) I was quite upset when the game wouldn't accept ettin. It's in the dictionary (as an "obsolete" word, but it's still in there.) I really wish there was a way to override that and have whoever you're playing decide if they'll accept the word or not.

SOOOOOOOOCKS! 8DDD

I swear, every time you get good shots of the dollhouse background, it makes me want to get a dollhouse. I never had one as a kid, and I really think I missed out on something awesome.

I really enjoy them! I never had a dollhouse when I was a kid, either, unless you count the MLP playsets (I don't). Fiddling with all the tiny things is a nice stress reliever. ^_^

My friend's 2-year old, who cannot yet pronounce my rabbit's name correctly, calls her "waddy". Poor Barley.

Oh, my goodness! You should have gotten it! There are several sellers on eBay who sell loose parts to the dollhouses, so the door would have been easy to replace.

Nice use of those two dancing ponies! :D

I can't remember; have we seen the mini-scrabble board before?
