Chocolate... the universal language. ~_^

omg I neeeed that! We have the real thing! I about died browsing j-lists minis last night, as a result of KT. I was thinking, "there's no way they actually have the rice bin as a separate piece in there. It's impressive enough that the paddle hooks on the outside and the lid opens..."

Oh wait, you say a bin for water and a bin for rice? How does that work? I've never seen one where the water and rice don't go in together...

Well, here's a quick picture of it. Sorry for the quality:

I could be wrong, because I've never used one, but I think the water goes into the main bin, and rice goes into the inner bin. The water boils and steams the rice. I think this prevents it from scorching, or something. I'm not an Asian chef, LOL.

Ours looks just like that. The rice and water both go together in the inner bin. The outer bin stays dry and clean, and has a weight sensor in the bottom to help determine when the rice is ready (I think). The inner bin pulls out to help you clean it, and to help you wash rice in it. But you're definitely warned in the directions not to put anything in the outer bin.
We love it. It's really simple to use and makes perfect rice every time.

Ah! Well, that makes sense. I think I'd gotten the idea from other contraptions that steam vegetables, and thought it worked the same way. They certainly sound handy, although I don't eat enough rice to justify getting one.

You finally convinced me. I placed an order with J-list today. A sampler of a random set from several different series. I asked them if they'd be kind enough to pick me out a rice maker set but I don't think they'll do it. :P I don't like the ironing board, bathroom scale, or fax machine enough to risk getting them randomly instead of my rice maker.

Is it weird that I'm really looking forward to the gum, too?

Completely off-topic: I discovered talking to the ducks in the fishing hole in Zelda and I about went off my nut with cuteness overload. "Duckums! Duckums!" squealed I.

Aw, drat! I'd have considered going in halfsies with ya! Minty's office could use a fax machine. ~_^

Ducks! I like talking to the frogs, too. :D

Depending on how much I love these, this may not be my last order. :P I'll let you know if I want to place another one!
