I become completely useless when I'm writing webpages, especially if I've been working on them for longer than an hour or two. My husband refers to it as my being "code-drunk." It's like being punch-drunk, only nerdier. LOL! So you may have noticed that I haven't been as talkative lately. And this is why... I've been code-drunk!

Big News!

The official Kimono's Townhouse website is up and running. There are still some spots under construction, and a few pages that need images, but it's up and ready for the world to see. Hooray! The nameservers are still updating the changes, so if the first link just takes you to LiveJournal, try the second link.

I'll be working on it some more over the next few weeks, making lots of new features and things for readers to play with. ~_^

Don't Worry!

I know some of you will worry. This doesn't change a thing for you. I will still update this journal, so KT will appear on your friends list every Wednesday. You don't have to change a thing unless you want to. ^_^ I'm just letting Kimono and Minty out into the larger world. So break out the champagne and cookies!

"Code-drunk"? I don't think I've heard of that one before. But my boyfriend agrees that it exists, because it seems to happen to him as well.

I think my husband may have made it up. It happens to a lot of other geeks I know, though. It's sorta trance-like, and you just get plain stupid. :P

Like when I...hell I'm like that almost all the time. ADD is bliss! :D

WELL DONE with the website, Dava. Everyone should check out the site. There's so much detail, and it's a fun read!

PS: This week's joke is RIPPED FROM THE HEADLINES of your life, isn't it? You are like an online, funnier version of Law and Order.

I've been code drunk before. But it's sad, like drinking alone.

Love the term "code-drunk'! lol

I just finished having a look around your website, and so far, it's great! I haven't been with your story since the beginning, so reading the backgrounds of all of the characters is very helpful (and amusing too)! Keep up the great work! :-D

Thanks! I wanted to make it easy for new readers, but also provide something neat for established readers, so I made the character profiles page. I'm glad you liked it. ^_^

I love the slow accumulation of cans beside Minty haha. Fantastic detail :D.

Coding requires lots and lots of caffeine. *nods*

I got an error trying to see the printable "Minty's office" - just so you know. :)

I wish I could invite Minty over (oh wait, there she is on the floor) so she could help me tweak my website. I'm HTML-dumb. :P

Thank you! I haven't had time to go through and double-check everything yet. I re-uploaded it, and it seems to be working now.

(Your HTML skills are far more l337 than mine...)

Shiny, indeed! I've been working on this thing for the better part of this year.

(1337 skills available on loan!)

Love the website! It's easy to navigate and cleanly laid out (a big personal peeve of mine is websites that are all cluttered up.) I'll be sending some readers your way, too! :D
Dec. 12th, 2007 05:31 pm (UTC)
Ooh! Thank you! I always appreciate new readers. ^_^ And thank you for your comments about the site. I worked really hard on it to make it easy to use.

The website looks lovely. Which web host did you end up going with?
Dec. 12th, 2007 05:18 pm (UTC)
LunarPages.com. So far, they have been terrific. ^_^
Dec. 12th, 2007 05:38 pm (UTC)
The site looks great!

I'm pretty sure I've been called code-drunk before, but that might have been a code-induced hallucination. o.O
Dec. 13th, 2007 05:49 am (UTC)
Thanks! ^_^
Dec. 13th, 2007 03:04 am (UTC)
Congratulations and well done! It has been bookmarked. :D
Dec. 13th, 2007 05:50 am (UTC)
Thank you! I'll announce updates here so you'll know when to check back. ^_^

"Tree. ...Tree? Trees are pretty."

*pet pet*

Hahah, I love the demented way she wears her bug antennae when she's programming. "Must... channel... geek waves!"

The website is looking very spiffy. And I love the Ponyland guide. Hopefully that clears up all those "But what happened to the Flutter Ponies?!" queries!
Dec. 13th, 2007 04:18 pm (UTC)
Some of us wear fuzzy slippers, and some of us wear antennae. To each geek her own! :P I think the Ponyland guide is my favorite part, too. :)

I know that feeling! Only my version is Etsy-drunk. It happens when I make, photograph and list ten items in one day, then stay up until one in the morning packing orders. XD

YAYSITE!! Hmm, I'm actually having some trouble viewing the site at the moment. I've gotten a couple of 403 errors, and a few red x's where graphics should be. It's never the same graphics twice, though, and the 403s usually go away when I refresh. Maybe the host is just hiccuping.
Dec. 13th, 2007 04:21 pm (UTC)
I see what you mean.... Hrm. The site timed out on me yesterday morning, when there was a spike in traffic. And just now, there were a couple images that didn't load the first time, and one page that didn't load.

I'm giving it until this weekend to see if it resolves itself. I know there are still things being set up and name servers having to switch over. But if it's still doing it this weekend, I'll be calling tech support.
