Due to unusual circumstances, I'm putting up this week's page a little early. Hopefully, this doesn't throw anyone off too much.

Based on a true story! :P

Hehe! Minty is just too cute! Very useful advice.. or then not. :P

Haha! Thanks. ^_^

lmao. that's so awesome.

I hope that, in the event that my email won't open, I at least get to talk to Sparkleworks and not Minty. I think I would go insane.

"Are you sure your computer is on? And your monitor too?" I forsee another head-wall banging..

<3 you, Dava

Hahahaha, that was a really good one. I really like the subtle change of pose between panels one and two, that give her eyes a bit of an exasperated look.

Tell her not to get that magnetic hoof too close to her screen! ; )

Haha, isn't that just the way with tech support? So true.
Apr. 19th, 2006 03:56 am (UTC)
Sadly, most of the time, it is. They're all Mintys.
Apr. 18th, 2006 11:01 am (UTC)
it's sad, but they wouldn't even be asking those questions if there weren't people calling in with those problems. "yeah, my screen just went black..." "can you read me the serial number on the back of your PC?" "no, the power's out!" *headdesk*
Apr. 19th, 2006 03:57 am (UTC)
Maybe. But when a customer throws around terms like "POP3" and "SSL," you're obviously not dealing with a total novice. ;)
Apr. 18th, 2006 12:21 pm (UTC)
That has happened to me. Dontcha love tech support? Especially when they have thick, Indian accents. Stop outsourcing! We cannot understand tech support anymore!
Apr. 19th, 2006 04:00 am (UTC)
I don't mind if they're Indian, as long as they don't lie to me about their name and tell me it's Allen or Gina or something. Nice way to establish trust in the customer service relationship! o_O

But yeah, it happened to me several times when I was the unofficial IT person at my last job. Oh, did it ever.

Hahahaa! I love Kimono's perplexed expression in the third panel. ^_^ After the two-hour chat I had with Dell tech support about my inferior printer, I can also sympathize. I completely understand why they have to ask those questions and go through those instructions, but yes, I had already cleaned the print cartridges and aligned them and tried different kinds of paper and and and. And the techie got through all the suggestions and reacted sort of like Minty. "Um..." I even got disconnected once when the techie got frazzled, and I still wonder if it was on purpose. XD
Apr. 19th, 2006 04:04 am (UTC)
Thank you! I thought you might appreciate it, in light of your recent battles. ~_^

My worst incident (which I know I have recorded in my LJ somewhere...) had the techie go through all the email settings, checking ports and addresses, etc. It didn't work, so he had me do it a second time. And he was about to have me do it a third time, when I demanded to talk to his supervisor. He ended up giving me POP/SMTP addresses that weren't listed on the website. Those worked for two months, and then I had to go through the process all over again. -_- Horrors.

Hee, so cute and so true...I noticed you have her using 'speaker phone'... right now I am trying to come up with a way to have ponies 'hold' something in my comic..it's been, ah, intresting O.O

Oh, I've added your comic as a friend to my soon-to-be-there-in-three-weeks-or-so comics home on LJ (I hope that is okay):

I can't promise it will be as pretty are yours however :)

Oh, I'm so glad you noticed! Speakerphones are a pony's best friend. *nod*

Thanks for the link. I'll be sure to take a peek when you get started. ^_^

Took me a while to get it to load all the way! :P~
Hooray po-dunk dail-up! I'm poor. Lmao, Kimono doesn't need to call tech support ever!! Poor Minty... it's never good to get stuck with the caller who knows more than you do about your job.... ;)

LOL! And yet, it happens, as in the real life incident which inspired this, where I had to battle with SBC. Sucks to be them. :P

oh,lordy, lordy..PinkHost!!!!!(rolls and hee-hees)

Apr. 19th, 2006 05:32 am (UTC)
Squee!! I'm glad someone noticed that. ^_^ Pinkhost, Ponyville's #1 internet service provider.™
Apr. 19th, 2006 05:23 am (UTC)
*lol* I can just picture Minty on the other end panicking. :D

Poor, poor Kimono. Maybe it would have better if she had asked what Minty did to her computer. ;)
Apr. 19th, 2006 05:33 am (UTC)
LOL! I'm not sure if I pity Minty more, or Kimono.

To be fair, Minty didn't do anything to the computer. It's all Pinkhost's fault. ;)
