#127--Bonus Comic

My brother-in-law often claims that Green Lantern is the most powerful of the superheroes. I so beg to differ! Although he likes Kyle Rayner, and I prefer Hal Jordan, the simple fact remains the same. Neither of them can make edible onions.

Hal Jordan is better. *nod*

You should pick up the Paralax figure and have HIM make the appearance next time. ~_^

Oh, the next two I have lined up are quite amusing. ;D

wolverine could still kick his ass if he snuck up behind GL.

Poor Hal, he's just useless.I bet Kyle as Ion could have made edible onions.

John Stewart* > Kyle and Hal.

I've finally gotten into the DC Universe line (I managed to find an unmasked Deathstroke!). So far I like it better than the current Marvel Legends stuff.

Nice 'GL effect' with the knife, btw.

*(the Green Lantern, not the host of the Daily Show)

I like both John Stewarts! :D The current DC Universe stuff has gotten really good. Leaving Mattel has been really bad for Marvel, though.

Oooh, that knife... I tried so hard to change the hue on the handle, and I just couldn't get it to work. Outer glow does wonders, though!

Which leads me to wonder... which superhero could actually create onions? Zatanna? The Scarlet Witch? Doctor Strange? *ponders*

Oh! Of course, sharing with credit. :)

Wanda could TOTALLY make onions. She made her twins that she "had" with The Vision after all. And don't even get me started on the House of M travesty...

And this comic is the best in the history of anything. Love it!

Thanks for the bonus :)

I like this one. But the onion thing was really a left turn for me. I mean, if you've got GL going on about how he's the most powerful hero ever and you're there to make omelets, wouldn't the best way to take him down a peg be to take advantage of the fact that eggs are yellow? Impenetrable shield, you say? Hmm, looks like the yolk's on you!

Or... can't make onions? Why don't you go pick some up with a ring construct? Oh, right. You can't. Because this recipe calls for yellow onions...

And hey, Silver Age Supes could probably make onions by ionizing and reforming air molecules or something.
Sep. 30th, 2008 12:33 am (UTC)
Actually, that yellow thing was sorted out and the majority of the Green Lanterns (well,t he more powerful ones.) no longer have that yellow weakness. (Trust me, you don't want to know how it happened. It'll make your head hurt.) And, for the record, Kyle Raynor's ring never had the yellow weakness to begin with.

God, I shouldn't know all this. I'm such a geek.

LMAO. This was awesome. I think Cooking with Superman is my total favorite! XD
Sep. 30th, 2008 12:31 am (UTC)
Maybe Green Lantern CAN create edible onions! No, seriously.. in theory, the ring can do anything. It once tapped into Kyle Raynor's subconscious and created some monster (that wasn't all glowy green) that he drew as a kid.

If it can do that, maybe it can create edible food (that'll disappear as soon as he stops concentrating on it?)
Sep. 30th, 2008 01:45 am (UTC)
Odd! Would they really be edible, though? Or would they be all gross and synthetic tasting, like Brundle's nasty steak in The Fly? (Oh, gawd, I'm such a geek...) And would it disappear, once eaten, if he stops concentrating? That would have so much prank potential!

I should pose this question to Geoff Johns and see what he has to say, LOL.

This one had me rolling. :D

I hope Batman eventually finds his way back onto the show. Him vs. Supes is just priceless.

Due to a recent discovery/obsession I want to see "Cooking with Harley", with Joker and/or Ivy as the guest star. We'll either have a vegan meal (or would Ivy exclusively eat meat, considering her love for plants?) or something verrrryyy finely chopped.

Hahaa! I love how you're able to make strips like this hilarious even for those of us who don't know our comics (or who don't know any comics that haven't been made into movies w/ Hugh Jackman in them *cough*). Brilliant. ^_^

Thanks! It's really fun, distilling the essence of a character for new readers.

I love the little sliced green pepper.
Honestly, the Cooking with Superman comics are great. Keep them coming!
