Kimono's Townhouse Meet and Greet: Kimono

Hello! As you probably know, I am Kimono, from Kimono's Townhouse. Dava, the odd girl who documents my life, thought it would be a good idea if Minty and I had a "Meet and Greet," where we can interact with everyone who follows KT. She said something about it being a nice way for our fans to get to know us, as well as "a novel approach to character development," whatever that means.

I can't imagine anyone being terribly interested in my life, but I'll play along. So if you have anything you would like to ask me, feel free. Just don't ask me anything too horribly personal. I'd like to come out of this with at least some dignity.

If response is good, you all will be subjected to a Meet and Greet with Minty. Joy of joys.

Hi! love your taste in home decorating.
I'm curious, where did you hear that chocolate is good for you? :)

Oh, thank you! Much of the decorating was in place when we moved in, so I cannot take credit for it. I am still redecorating several portions of the house.

I have always had a weakness for chocolate, so my ears perked when I learned about its benefits in a nutrition course I took a few years ago. I should note that while theobromine, one of the stimulants present in chocolate, is toxic to horses, it is not harmful to Little Ponies.

What do you detest about Minty the most?

Apr. 22nd, 2006 01:26 am (UTC)
Oh, now that's not fair! I don't detest her at all. She merely tries my patience. I would say that her most irritating habit is hiding socks. I find them in the strangest places!

How did you manage to become Minty's roommate? :3

Apr. 22nd, 2006 01:30 am (UTC)
Well, this house came up for sale a few months ago, and I simply could not pass up the opportunity. The mortgage payments, however, were slightly above what I could afford. Since the house has an extra bedroom, I decided to take in a roommate to defray the mortgage cost.

I placed an ad in the newspaper, and Minty was the only pony to answer. It was the oddest thing! I thought others would leap at the chance to live here.

What's your favorite movie to curl up with on a cold night (or a warm night, for that matter)?

I don't watch many films, but I have always enjoyed Animals are Beautiful People. That one always cheers me up.

I do have a job! I am a student worker at Ponyville University's library. I work in the government documents special collection, so I am rarely bothered. I get most of my studying done while on the job!

Hee :) I love asking questions, maybe a bit too much:

1) How old are you?

2) Does it ever annoy you that so many things in the pony world are made for humans? (When there are'nt that many humans around ether?)

3) If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

4) Would you say you are smarter than Minty?

5) How did you two become friends? (if you were before moving in)

6) Where *is* you townhouse anyhow?

7) I've read that you like classic novels..How do you you get novels written by humans in the pony world? Are there any noted authors who are ponies?

8) What is your job? (we already know about Minty's)

I have alot more questions, but my own comic is starting tomorrow so I'm working on that, see you there !:)

1) How old are you?
In human years, I would be 24.

2) Does it ever annoy you that so many things in the pony world are made for humans? (When there are'nt that many humans around ether?)
It is certainly annoying! I do miss that houses in Ponyville were constructed for ponies, but I do not miss living in the city. There are only a few humans in this neighborhood, and I find them to be very pleasant.

3) If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I do find it a bit difficult to associate with others. Or perhaps they find it difficult to associate with me. Either way, I would like to work on that.

4) Would you say you are smarter than Minty?
At the risk of sounding egotistical... yes.

5) How did you two become friends? (if you were before moving in)
Minty was only an acquaintance before she answered my ad for a roommate. We have a mutual friend, Sweetberry, who worked with Minty last year.

6) Where *is* you townhouse anyhow?
My townhouse is in a suburb just north of Ponyville. It's a bit of a commute to get to the university, but I enjoy the quiet.

7) I've read that you like classic novels..How do you you get novels written by humans in the pony world? Are there any noted authors who are ponies?
By and large, novels written by ponies are silly affairs, and I tend to avoid them. The only exception are some histories written by Majesty, which I enjoy. As for how human novels arrived in the pony world, I suppose they came with the humans!

8) What is your job? (we already know about Minty's)
I am a student worker in the government documents special collection at the Ponyville University Library.

Pffft! Kimono -- why are you so impatient with squeeful little green ponies? XD

On a more serious note, what -- if anything -- can make you (temporarily) as squeeful and gleeful as Minty? There must be something.

What about boys??? will there be any boys??

strangest place you've ever found one of minty's socks.

favorite book, favorite place to read? I like to relax in the tub with a good book and a candle or two. Very nice, very relaxing. :)

I should hope there will be boys! I never get to go out! Dava keeps muttering something about Hasbro, but I don't see why they should have any say in it. I'm a big girl, after all.

So far, the strangest place I've found socks was on top of the refridgerator.

I rather enjoy reading on the back patio. This house a fantastic patio on the sunny side of the house, with a view of the pond. I love stretching out there with a good book! When I'm in a cozy mood, I like reading L.M. Montgomery.

Haha! I've been here so long, I might never leave!

I have a few options I'm considering. I might become a policy advisor or perhaps an attaché. More than likely, I will end up becoming a professor.

Ugh, well, somebody would have to ask this question eventually. Considering your major choice, have you ever watched any anime (Japanese cartoons)? If so, which ones? Are you a fan of Miyazaki's films? You would probably enjoy them.

However do you manage to get that lovely metallic shine in your hair? I simply must have the name of your hair dresser.

Why, thank you, dear! My friend, Toola Roola, is a hairdresser. I don't see her as often as I should. She does a wonderful job! I inherited very thick, straight hair from my mother. It gets a lot of compliments, but I do wish it would hold a curl.

I have a question, Diet or regular sodas?

and It is actualy quite comfortable sleeping on a mat on the floor isn't it? I used to have horriable backaches and umbelivable Carpal tunnel (numbness in my hands) untill I had began to move into my new home, and ended up sleeping on a pile of quilts (around 30)on the floor, I doubt I could ever go back to sleeping on a bed, though Jumping on one is fun!

Apr. 24th, 2006 01:35 am (UTC)
When I do have sodas, I prefer regular ones. They have enough strange chemicals without throwing saccharine or, heaven forbid, Splenda into the mix. I usually opt for a Fresca, although I enjoy Coca Cola, too.

And I do love my futon! Now that I have it, I realize how hard it was for me to get onto a regular bed. They're simply not designed for ponies.

When you write do you hold the pen in your mouth? O.O Werid question I know, but we humans wonder...

Do you have any winged friends? Are pegs very uncommon?
kimonos_house
Apr. 24th, 2006 01:41 am (UTC)
Haha! Honestly, it depends on the utensil. I've held paintbrushes in my mouth. Some tools I can hold with one curled hoof, or between two hooves. I tend to hold pens with a curled hoof, but I much prefer the voice recognition program on my computer. How did we get along without them?

Pegasus ponies are uncommon in Ponyville, actually. It's one of the main things I dislike about this city. The ponies have somewhat segregated themselves. Pegasus ponies live, for the most part, on their own island. Unicorns have their own province. It's a little disheartening.

I did make quite a few pegasus friends in Dream Valley, though. I still keep in touch with one, Firefly, by email.
