You know, I’m not even sure Ponyland had a medieval period. Then again, Minty probably didn’t pay much attention in history, since none of the figures involved had computers or comic books.

That set is my worst example of construction yet. I hope no one notices… oh, hey! Did you know “ye” is pronounced “the?” It’s true!

News n' Stuff

Be sure to check here Sunday for a special Easter Egg Hunt! The contest will start at 12:00 am Central time, so be here early to get a head start. You must have a LiveJournal account to enter, so if you're not a member, now is a good time to sign up.

Also, it's a new month, so we get a new vote incentive! I would have posted this last week, but you know. April Fool's Day. So! Get KT into the top 100 at Top Web Comics, and there will be a bonus episode on Monday, April 27. And if you've avoided voting because of the hassle, I have good news--TWC has ditched the captcha screens, so voting is MUCH easier now. So go! Vote!

Yeah, I meant the cardboard. And the terrible costumes! :P I figured it's okay, since it's Minty's version of history, anyway. XD

Aw! I love this one.

At first I thought those two were at a Ren fair as opposed to the actual past.

I think Minty may have learned all her history from Ren fairs. LOL!

I'm not even wearing my glasses (which means I'm almost legally blind right now), and I thought, "Gosh, there must've been a surplus of cardboard in the house this week!" XD

But it's totally appropriate for Minty's view of history.

I searched for a printable thatch pattern, and met with epic failure. :P

This just killed me dead. I almost fell off the bed laughing when the argument about the original language started and then the COSPLAYERS...

This is my favorite KT comic EVER. Thank you for making my dark little medievalist heart happy!

Happy to serve! :D I should do these more often. They make me feel like my years in grad school weren't in vain. XD

I like the set!!!

This cracks me up, given some of the people I hang out with/have hung out with.

The again, I've been known to be pretty anal about 'remakes' myself, so...

Actually, mediaeval cosplayers dressed up as the Court of King Arthur! The whole tourney thing was a giant cosplay, and the SCA re-enact genuine mediaeval re-enactors.

Strange but true ;)

At first glance I thought today's comic was going to be about the SCA and I got a little excited.

I didn't even notice the bad construction, the premise was so brilliant.

Aww, thanks! That's from that essay Jill prompted me to write for National Drunk Writing Night back in '05, if you remember. I wasn't drunk, of course, but I was taking all that codeine for bronchitis. :P

Hilarious,I'm sure the poneees go to Renfairs.

A tiny Bayeaux tapestry on the wall is NOT the worst example of construction yet. It's up there with the awesomest! :D

"Ye Olde Epic Shoppe" made me giggle like a fiend. If fiends giggle. Do fiends giggle?
Apr. 8th, 2009 04:06 pm (UTC)
Most assuredly, they giggle!

Did you know “ye” is pronounced “the?” It’s true! Hee! Yes, I did actually! :-D

And HEE, tapestry!!

*looks closer* Ohhh... <3 that little pendant at Hat Pony's cloak collar is just the sweetest Medieval-est thing!
Apr. 9th, 2009 03:42 am (UTC)
They probably dressed as Biblical characters.

Apr. 9th, 2009 04:13 am (UTC)
Dude, that would totally explain why all they had were Passion plays. :P

I was disappointed at first because I thought it was Brightly at a Ren Faire, but this is funny enough that I am pacified. =) Minty is hilarious!
