Yes, I talk to myself enough without a website encouraging me...
I usually try to stay away from current events, since they tend to date the comic, but I've heard about nothing but Twitter for the past two weeks. The site has been around for awhile, but it's finally caught on this past year. Personally, I can't make sense of it, which I suppose can be blamed on using LiveJournal for seven years. Twitter makes me feel old. And if you need further proof of how old I am, I still capitalize "Internet."
So if you're like me, maybe you'll find this icon amusing:

I think it's just for lazy egomaniacal narcissists who think people give a hoot whether they pooped at 4 or 5 pm. (Well, you know, not that I've actually looked at Twitter to see anyone writing about that... I don't think you'd get many friends writing about poop.)
If I really wanted to know what someone was doing, I'd rather have a detailed explanation, not the Cluedo version ("With Professor Plum, in the ballroom, with the candlestick." Are you murdering someone, or just really into antiques?)
I too speak to myself. A little less than I used to, but that's probably more to do with how I've become boring. Yeah, even I am bored by my own conversations! =D
LOL! Yes, exactly. XD
*snort*
it made me lol...and first thing in the AM that's difficult!
Heh, I'll go back to listening to the Riding Bean soundtrack now.

i'm on the fence. got dragged into it by peer pressure. btw, the only person i know who tweets about bowel movements is my friend megan, who has ALWAYS announced that sort of thing to everyone. and once you get past the shock of it, it's kinda nice knowing if you ever had a weird poo issue, you know someone you could talk about it with...
Oddly enough, Minty is the sort of personality I'd want to follow on Twitter. XD
Me, too! Especially since I also tend to ask myself questions... and answer myself. >_>
I bet a Minty Twitter account would be pretty interesting. She had a hard time keeping up with that blog I set up for her, though. Way too easily distracted!
Don't get me started on Plurk. haha...
That icon is awesome socks. I'm going to use it for my other journal. :D
Oh, if only that were true. But no, they have a really good cell phone interface, which allows people to tell you they're on the bus or grocery shopping and just bought coffee...
Probably 75% of my tweets are replies to other people's fandom-related tweets.
I probably post something personal once every 100 tweets at the most. :)
Yes, Minty. THANK YOU. I need to gank that icon. :)
I like Twitter, but I try to ignore the fact that about 98% of the population tweets to prove their existence. I tweet to keep in touch with my friends AND so I don't make a billion LJ posts a day. They're all compressed into one Twitter post later. Convenience!
There really seems to be a lot of self-ego stroking that goes on over there as a whole. :\
There are a lot of misconceptions about Twitter. It isn't about tweeting silly things like "I had cereal for breakfast", it's about meeting new people and having conversations with them. Nearly 80% of my tweets are part of a conversation. I've met some cool people on there as well!
Maybe you'll make your way there soon enough, because you're definitely cool enough to be there. ;)
Definitely this! It's much more of a forum or chat room for me than an account of what I do every minute.
I'm one of those people who disregard things like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace etc as I'd rather not have people know how dull my life really is, lol. I'm only on LiveJournal to read comics...
Ha! Yeah, after the ladies on The View recommended Twitter (causing it to crash that day under the weight of millions of older women), I decided that Twitter is the AOL of blogging.
I may eventually get a Facebook account. I dunno... my mother-in-law is on Facebook. :P I felt dirty when I signed up at Myspace. I check it every two or three months.
