This is why I pretty much exclusively read old trade paperbacks and fanfic. I can stick my fingers in my ears and hum and pretend the reboot never happened.

Minterine made me LOL! Also, I may just be singing Spider Mint for days.....

I haven't been into current comics for a while now, but a friend of mine says the reboot isn't that bad, and people are making it seems way worse than it really is. *shrugs* The last time I can remember buying new comics off the shelf was three years ago (I still haven't read one of them, by the way), so I'm way out of it.

I thought the same thing about Minterine as well. "That sounds like Listerine..." Funny comic.

Is this friend male?

Yeah, a guy I work with. He keeps stacks of trade paperbacks in his drawers at work as a sort of free comic library for coworkers. I have no idea why I decided to mention that.

The current powers that by of DC Comics, have openly admitted that they are only interested in making stuff that they think appeals to 16-21 year old males. That's why Starfire is now an amnesiac sex object, and Catwoman's premier issue was entirely there to lead up to in-costume sex with Batman on a rooftop. DC Comics's top people also reacted to criticism from a female reader at SDCC by basically telling her to shut up and sit down, while encouraging the 16-21 year old males in the audience to heckle her.

The sad thing is that DC Comics's is pulling down the other branches of DC, such as the Animation groups that produced good things and are not brain dead about the existence of female fans. I would be entirely happy if at some point DC say 'Sorry, we know we started out as a comic book company, but DC Comics has been driven into the ground by the idiots who we couldn't fire because of their contracts. So we're shuttering it, and going to concentrate on making animated shows and movies.'.

The guys I know hate what they did to Starfire and didn't even bother with Catwoman from the summary alone.

They thing Aquaman is incredibly good now though and probably got the best out of the reboot and really like some others, but are mixed overall.

I vote for Iron Mint.

And for what its worth, I detest the DC reboot. They canceled one of my favorite books (Power Girl) and ret-conned the bajeezus out the other (Batgirl). I suppose its just as well that I've found a couple of new Marvel books to follow.

Yeah, I heard about the changes to Starfire, and my response was, "I'm done."

I don't care if it sounds like a mouthwash. Heck, if it were a mouthwash, it would be my favorite brand!

Love this one. :D

(Now I'm singing the Spider Pig version of Spider-Mint. Does whatever a Spider-Mint does!)

bahaha Minterine

Finally, a name for her BBS-cleaning alter-ego! :D

I vote for both costumes! Also, how about... Professor Mint? Mint-neto? :)

You can imagine how thrilled I am. (ptb have announced that Jaime Reyes is the first and only Blue Beetle now, while making him a typical whiny teenager with family issues and a secret identity, thus removing everything that made him an original character.)

I'm lucky enough that I got into comics late...I can completely ignore the DCnU and work on collecting the good stuff from mid-ninties and back for the rest of my life without running out of stuff I haven't read.

Awww, don't say this is the end of Batmint!

...Minterine, lol.

Awwww, I'll miss Batmint. But I would love to see Spider-Mint.

Minterine had me laughing. :D I can only imagine what wonderful ideas Minty has in mind for any costumes for new characters she runs with too. Although no more Batmint is sad. Hopefully Batmint can return one day to right more wrongs.

Hah, it does sound like mouthwash. xD

I think making readers feel bad is what DC Comics REALLY specializes in. I have completely given up on them.
